SEYMOUR — The Seymour Public Library is launching a new Science Fiction/Fantasy Book Discussion Group for adults. The free book club will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the library.
The first book to be discussed is Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. First published in 1993, this work of speculative fiction is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth shaped by climate change, economic instability, and social upheaval.
Copies of Parable of the Sower are available to borrow from the Seymour Public Library with a valid library card.
Following the inaugural meeting, book selections will be chosen by a vote of the group’s members, and future meeting date and time of the club will be discussed.
