Rita M. Sadick, age 92, a lifetime Derby resident and devoted wife of 70 years to Edward W. Sadick Sr., peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday July 29, 2026 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was born in Derby on November 28, 1933 the daughter of the late Carlo and Rose (Colonese) Iacomacci.
She spent her life as a homemaker, forever the devoted wife and mother, they were the most important parts of her life. Rita enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family. She will also forever be remembered by her family as a professional Jeopardy player, although that profession never left the living room.
She is beloved mother of Edward W. Sadick Jr and his wife Mishelle, Rita Drake and her husband Vincent, Joseph Sadick, and Michele Cooke and her husband Trevor. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Crosby, Kyle Sadick, Chelsea Sadick, Dylan Sadick, Katelynn Sadick, Ian Sadick, Tyler Sadick, and Jillian LaPointe and her husband Paul and several nieces and nephews. Rita also leaves behind her four-legged grandchildren Anakin, Melody, Luna, Carlos, and Ruby. She was predeceased by her siblings Carlo Iacomacci, Dominic Iacomacci, Alba Beam, Theresa Clark, and Esther Passaretti, as well as her two daughters-in-laws Lucille Sadick and Colleen Sadick.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Monday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 212 Elizabeth St. Derby. Burial will follow at Mt.
