DERBY — Two juveniles were arrested Wednesday after running from a stolen car.
Police said they responded to the Gilbert Street area to locate a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, but it struck a police car while attempting to flee. One officer was checked out for minor injuries, police said.
Six people then ran from the vehicle, prompting a manhunt that included the use of police dogs to track the suspects, according to emergency radio transmissions made at about 9:30 p.m.
Two juveniles were taken into custody, according to an email from police.
Their names are not being released due to state law.
Both were charged with larceny of motor vehicle, possession of cannabis, and interfering. One of the underage suspects was additionally charged with possession of burglary tools.
