Mrs. Carol Ann Kirby, 76, of Oxford, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday Aug. 12 after a brief illness at Griffin Hospital. She is the wife of the late John C. Kirby.
Born in Derby on Aug. 15,1949 daughter to the late Andrew and Lillian (Griskauskas) Bowolick a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, graduate of the Ansonia High School and received a Degree in Social Work from S.C.S.U. Carol, throughout her life was awarded many civic awards as well as the St. Joseph Medal from the Archdiocese of Hartford. She was involved in the Newtown Strong Therapy Dogs.
Survivors are 1 daughter Lynette Kirby of Hackensack, N.J. 2 sons Paul (Victoria Jelenik) Kirby of Shelton and John (Irene Krom) Kirby of Ansonia 1 Brother Andrew (Ginny Montefusco) Bowolick of Milford and 8 grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother Charlie Bowolick. On Monday Aug. 17 visitation will be held in the Bennett Funeral Home 91 N. Cliff St. Ansonia from 9 to 10:30a.m. then leaving for a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. in the Church of the Assumption at Our Lady of the Valley Parish. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
