ANSONIA – State Rep. Kara Rochelle, state Sen. Jorge Cabrera, and U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro will host the annual senior resource fair on Oct. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Warsaw Park (119 Pulaski Highway).
The fair will feature state and local agencies, businesses, and non-profits that provide services and resources to seniors, caregivers, and family members. Light refreshments and free raffle prizes will be provided.
The event is free and open to the public. All community members, especially seniors, are encouraged to attend.
There will be over 35 organizations available to discuss the programs they offer for seniors, including ArrayRx Prescription Discount Program, Team Inc., CT Long Term Care Ombudsman, Office of Healthcare Advocate, CT Aging and Disability Services, AARP, and many more.
Local health providers will be present to offer free on-site health screenings throughout the fair. Griffin Hospital will be in attendance to provide blood pressure checks, BMI and weight assessment, and other screenings. Valley Pharmacy will have an on-site vaccine clinic offering vaccinations against Flu, Shingles, Pneumonia, and more. Medi-SSage will offer free 7-minute massages by professionals to help with various types of pain management and pain relief.
The Office of the State Treasurer will be on-site to help attendees check whether they are owed money from the CTBigList and will assist with filing a claim on the spot to get your funds. During last year’s fair, the Office of the State Treasurer helped identify $30,000 in unclaimed funds for attendees and filed claims in real time for returns.
