Vincent J. O’Brien, age 68, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Cheryl (Spicker) O’Brien. Vincent was born in Mineola, NY, on November 13, 1957, cherished son of Eleanor (Pranckitas) O’Brien and the late Vincent J. O’Brien, and lived in Shelton for 28 years.
Vincent had a long and successful career in banking, spending 30 years with UBS before his retirement. He was a student of American history and a wine connoisseur. Vincent enjoyed gardening, and was a loyal fan of the NY Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.
He is the beloved father of Vincent O’Brien (Tatiana) and Kathleen O’Brien, and proud grandfather of Chloe, Clare, and Ciara O’Brien. He is also survived by two siblings, Patrick O’Brien and Kelly Incardona.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM. On Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10 am, family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave. Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will immediately follow at Huntington Lawn Cemetery South. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research of one’s choice.
