JAWS and PIRANHA Screening In Seymour

People swim in the summer, so the twisted minds behind Connecticut Cult Classics are screening two movies about swimmers being eaten alive.

JAWS and PIRANHA July 21 at The Strand Theater in Seymour. Purists take note: it’s the 1978 version of Piranha.

D’Addario Automotive Group Of Shelton Donates $50,000 For Breast Wellness

D’Addario Automotive Group of Shelton recently donated $50,000 to the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness in Derby to support breast health in the area.

The donation will be used for diagnostic breast imaging for uninsured/underinsured women in the community who would otherwise tend to forego this important test.

The Center For Cancer Care At Griffin Hospital 5K To Celebrate 10 Years With A Xenathlon

The Annual 5K Walk/Run to benefit the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital will celebrate its 10th year with events for the mind, body and spirit.

This non-competitive, family-friendly event is set for Sat., Sept. 22 at the Griffin Hospital Center for Cancer Care, 350 Seymour Ave., Derby, and will feature a “Xenathlon” of ways to improve one’s well-being.

CT-Connected Lawsuit Filed Over Trump Administration’s Separation Policy

With the help of Connecticut attorneys, two children who were taken from their parents at the U.S.- Mexico border and sent to a Connecticut facility are suing the federal government for the “psychological and mental harm” caused by the separations.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, Connecticut Legal Services, and the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic at Yale will hold a press conference in New Haven Friday morning to explain the lawsuits.
