An Ansonia woman was arrested Thursday (April 19) after police investigating a burglary at her home last month allegedly found marijuana there.
According to a prepared statement from Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch, 37-year-old Heather Swanson reported the break-in at her Platt Street home March 8.

In a prepared statement, Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said the first arrests came Saturday (March 17) after police “investigated a suspicious person, possibly threatening case at 23 Beverly Drive.”

An Ansonia man is due in court this week after police said he passed 20 counterfeit $100 bills at the CVS on Pershing Drive.
In a prepared statement, Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said Richard Nash, 55, was charged with 20 counts of third-degree forgery March 10 after police obtained an arrest warrant in the case.

Shelton police charged a volunteer firefighter with setting a fire in the back of a pickup truck outside the firehouse last month.
In a prepared statement Friday, Detective Christopher Nugent said 57-year-old William Tortora had been charged with second-degree arson, second-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree criminal mischief, as well as three counts of conspiracy.
Another arrest is expected, according to police.
