A New Eagle Scout Takes Flight In Seymour

On June 21, 2018, Spencer Williams, 19, of Seymour, will be inducted into a special and unique group of Boy Scouts. 

Spencer will receive his Eagle Scout Court of Honor from the Housatonic Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Spencer has been a member of Troop 11 in Seymour for 13 years, starting off as a cub scout and working his way through the ranks. 

He has been troop librarian, instructor, and is currently an adult volunteer for Troop 11. 

He is also a member and vice president of the Venturing Crew 11. Order of the Arrow was awarded to him in 2016.

His Eagle Scout project was a toy drive to benefit the Toy Box at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. More than 500 toys were collected for the children there. 

Spencer is a 2017 graduate of Seymour High School. 

While there, he was an honor student, and a member of the Car Club and Best Buddies. 

He recently finished a year of studies at Naugatuck Valle Community College. 

He will be honored and accompanied by his dad (Gene), mom (Kate), brother and fellow scout, Nicholas, sisters Brittany and Kenya and stepfamily, Lisa, Matthew and Andrew.
