Kara Rochelle, candidate for State Representative for the 104th House District, has received the endorsement of AFSCMEs Council 4.

She stands together with the blue collar workers represented by AFSCME and is a strong advocate for policies that protect workers and grow the middle class.

The endorsement of AFSCME is significant for this race because it shows that workers in state and local government and in the private sector know that I will be in their corner. When we fight for fair wages, truly affordable healthcare, and safe work conditions we all win. I am the candidate that will bring that fight up to Hartford,” Rochelle said in a press release.

Our union is proud to endorse Kara Rochelle for State Representative,” said AFSCME Council 4 Executive Director Jody Barr. She is committed to fighting for all workers and protecting vital public services that are the cornerstone of a healthy and prosperous state. Kara is equally committed to making sure that the economy works for everyone, not just the wealthy and corporate conservative special interests that are dominating the political and legislative landscape. Her message of fundamental economic fairness and accountability resonates with our union members.”

To date Rochelle has also received endorsements from Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, State Representative Linda Gentile, CWA, Connecticut’s Working Families Party and the Connecticut AFL-CIO.

Headquartered in New Britain, CT, Council 4 represents 30,000 workers in state and local government and the private sector, and is among the state’s leading advocates for working women and men.
