Ansonia Police Make Arrest In Connection To Violent Robbery

A 18-year-old man was arrested Nov. 2 and charged with six crimes connected to a violent robbery on Dwight Street last year.

Police did not release the suspect’s name, saying he was 17 at the time of the alleged robbery.

On Dec. 21, 2016 at about 9 p.m. a delivery driver was attacked by two men while trying to drop off food at a property on Dwight Street.

A third suspect jumped into the man’s car, which was stolen.

One of the suspects was carrying a gun, according to police.

The victim suffered head and facial injuries. He was treated at Griffin Hospital.

Police obtained a warrant to arrest the 18-year-old suspect.

He’s charged with first-degree robbery (serious injury), conspiracy to commit first degree robbery, first-degree assault (aided by others), third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.
