ANSONIA — Police warned residents and business owners to be vigilant after three overnight commercial burglary attempts in the past week.

The Ansonia Police have investigated three commercial burglary attempts in the last week. There were two attempted burglaries on the west side of Ansonia in the Maple Street area and one attempt on the East side, on Main Street, near Columbia Street.
In all three attempts, the suspect(s) smashed the glass doors to the buildings and attempted entry. Each business had an audible alarm that sounded and the suspect(s) fled. Police are asking for business owners to make sure they set any alarms when leaving the building and also to report any suspicious persons.
All three attempts happened during the overnight hours. If your business has a video surveillance please make sure the system is working and recording in the event an attempt is made on your business. This will allow the police to obtain video footage and possible identify the suspect(s).
