Children’s August Events At Plumb Memorial Library

The Children’s Dept of the Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster Street, Shelton, will be offering a series of special programs for the month of August.

Summer Reading Programs:
Emojine a Summer at the Library for Grades K‑6 and Teen Summer Reading Programs: Friday, August 3 from 9 am – 4 pm Final day to return to return raffle tickets to either Plumb Memorial Library or Huntington Branch Library.
Rubber Ducky Reading Club: Friday, August 31 from 9 am- 4 pm Final day to return Rubber Ducky Reading Logs to either Plumb Memorial Library or Huntington Branch Library.
Teen Summer Reading Program: Friday, August 3 Friday, August 3 from 9 am – 4 pm Final day to return to return raffle tickets to either Plumb Memorial Library or Huntington Branch Library.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Teen Volunteer Orientation: Tuesday, August 7 from 5:30 pm‑7:30 pm. Shelton students in Grade 7 and older interested in performing Community Service requirements must attend this mandatory training session. Registration is required.

Homeschool STEAM Club: Tuesday, August 14 from 12 pm‑1 pm. This monthly program is geared for Homeschooled preschool and elementary –aged children. Registration is required.

Summer Movies: Wednesday, August 15 from 6 pm‑8 pm. This month’s feature is The Princess Bride Free snacks and water provided. Registration is required.

Candy Sushi Workshop: Wednesday, August 22 from 6 pm‑7 pm. Discover a new twist on sushi by crafting your own Japanese-style food with 
non-traditional ingredients like sweet candy. Food Allergy Waiver form must
be completed prior to program. This event is geared to kids from ages 5 – 13 years old and their caregivers. Registration is required.

Under the Sea Cupcake Creatures: Wednesday, August 29 from 6 pm‑7 pm. 
Kids ages 5 – 13 years old and their caregivers are invited to learn how to transform a cupcake into a sea creature. Food Allergy Waiver form must
be completed prior to program. Registration is required. 

Spanish Programs:
Spanish with Sandra for children ages 2 – 7 years old and their caregivers meet on Tuesday at 4:30 pm- 5:00 pm on August 7 and 14.

Talking in Spanish for tweens ages 10 – 13 meets on Tuesday at 5 pm‑5:45 pm on August 7 and 14.
Registration is required for both Spanish Programs.
Life is Art craft program for tweens ages 10 and up is offered every Thursday at 6pm‑7:30pm. No registration is required.
