Derby Town Clerk Marc Garofalo is spearheading an effort to collect items for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank at 237 Roosevelt Drive in Derby.
This month city employees and the public are asked to donate cans of ready-to-eat soup. Cans can be dropped off at the town clerk’s office in Derby City Hall, 1 Elizabeth St.
Additionally, St. Vincent DePaul is in need of volunteers during the week at the food bank or thrift shop.
“Can you help out one afternoon or morning per week? Call 203.734.7577 for more information,” Garofalo said in an email.
Garofalo and Derby employees have been conducting monthly donations for the food bank since 2016.
