Free Meals Provided To Ansonia Students

ANSONIA The Ansonia Board of Education voted unanimously on Sept. 12 to approve the participation of its four schools in a program that will provide free breakfast and lunch to enrolled students for the 2018 – 19 school year.

The four schools are Mead School, Prendergast School, Ansonia Middle School and Ansonia High School.

The meals will be provided as part of the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program through a choice for schools called the Community Eligibility Provision.

Letters will be provided to Mead School and Prendergast School parents and guardians, notifying them that they do not have to complete any forms or pay any money for this program. For AMS and AHS students, the letter will be posted on the school district website, www.ansonia.org

The program has already begun in the four schools. The Board of Education thanked Dominick Golia, Director of Food Services, for pursuing this program that benefits all of the students in the public schools.
