It’s a Godzilla double feature with 1974’s “Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla” and 1971’s somewhat psychedelic “Godzilla vs The Smog Monster.”

GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA (1974) pits Godzilla against his infamous bio-mechanical double, constructed by evil alien apes from Black Hole Planet 3 to neutralize the King of the Monsters and conquer the Earth! Considered by many to be the strongest Godzilla film of the 1970’s (maybe of all time?), MECHAGODZILLA is a rock’em, sock’em monster mash that boasts one of the most satisfying final battles in the entire series. And don’t forget appearances by under-appreciated kaiju Angurius and King Caesar, a cool spy film subplot, and that far out, jazz-infused instrumental score!
GODZILLA VS. THE SMOG MONSTER (1971) is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. A mind-melting, psychedelic trip that remains one of the most fascinating, controversial kaiju films ever made. See Godzilla fight to save the earth against the monster Hedorah, a sludge dripping, laser beam spewing, metamorphosing incarnation of industrial pollution.
