Amy D’Amico, Joann’s niece, Scholarship recipient, Caitlin McGuire, and Pat Walker, the President of the Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Shelton Library are pleased to announce the first winner of the Joann Patters Scholarship.
The recipient was Caitlin McGuire, a senior at Shelton High School.
Caitlin is planning to study elementary education at the University of Maine in the fall.
The scholarship was presented by Pat Walker, President of the Friends of the Shelton Library at the June 2 award ceremony.
Patters
Joann Patters, a member of the Friends of the Library, was a longtime library volunteer who worked tirelessly at the semiannual Friends Book Sale in addition to assisting in a variety of programs throughout the year.
She was a daily advocate for the Library and the Friends group who is dearly missed.
