Oxford Scouts Unveil New Christmas Ornament

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, Oxford Boy Scout Troop 1 attended the Board of Selectmen’s Meeting to formally present to First Selectman George Temple with the Troop 1 Annual Christmas Ornament. 

This year the Ornament depicts Oxford Public Library, which officially opened its new location in August. 

The ornament was beautifully designed by Wendy Anderson. 

Ornaments can be purchased for $10 at the Troop 1 tree sales at Fritz’s Restaurant located at 72 Oxford Road in Oxford, Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. until trees are sold out. 

Other locations include Oxford Lumber, 113 Oxford Road; Oxford Pharmacy, 100 Oxford Road and; the Oxford Library, 49 Great Oak Road.

The Boys Scouts of America aims to provide youth with programs that build character, teach the responsibilities of citizenship and develop personal fitness.
