Police: Man Caught Breaking Into Shelton Building

A Stratford man is due in court after police said a detective caught him breaking into a Bridgeport Avenue building.

According to a prepared statement from Shelton Police Detective Richard Bango, the arrest of 47-year-old Mark Lindsey stemmed from a joint investigation with Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull, and Shelton police departments.

The Stratford Police Department developed Lindsey as a burglary suspect in multiple Fairfield county towns,” Bango said. A Stratford Detective was conducting surveillance on Lindsey in the early morning hours of 12/03/2017. During the investigation Lindsey was caught in the act of burglarizing the Family Health Care building located at 330 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton.”

Bango said Lindsey was also responsible for burglaries at office buildings at 680 and 1077 Bridgeport Ave. during the early morning hours.”

The investigation is still open and additional arrest are expected in the case,” Bango said.

Lindsey is charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, attempted third-degree larceny, and fifth degree larceny.

He was held $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby Monday (Dec. 4).
