Benjamin Brooks-Whiteley, 23, of Seymour and the son of Desiree Brooks and Patrick Whiteley completed Navy Boot Camp Great Lakes, IL in May.
He successfully completed three months BESS training at the Naval Submarine School based in Groton and in October, CSS SR Brooks-Whiteley reported to the Los Angeles-class submarine, USS Jefferson City (759) in Joint Base Pearl Harbor, HI where he will be stationed.
