Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from the last week.
On 01/29/18 at 1:16 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to #459 Asbury Ridge Road to assist EMS with gaining access to a home. An engine responded.
On 01/29/18 at 2:38 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a public service call, lockout, at #11 Barbara Drive. An engine responded.
On 01/29/18 at 4:14 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #16 Stonehouse Road for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. A faulty detector was the cause. A rescue truck responded.
On 01/29/18 at 7:12 pm the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a chimney fire on Rolling Ridge Road. Firefighters arrived but found no fire. Two engines and two rescue trucks responded.
On 01/30/18 at 8:26 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to Butler Commercial Services at #97 Bridgeport Avenue for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Dust from construction caused the alarm. An engine and a ladder truck responded.
On 01/31/18 at 00:21 am the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Holy Trinity Academy at #503 Shelton Avenue. There was no fire. Two engines responded.
On 01/31/18 at 9:27 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a report of a car fire at the gasoline pumps at the Bridgeport Avenue Shell #99 Bridgeport Avenue. The fire, in the engine compartment, was out upon arrival of firefighters. One unit responded.
On 01/31/18 at 11:23 am the Echo Hose Co. #1, White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Shelton High School at #120 Meadow Street. There was no fire. Two engines and a tower truck responded.
On 01/31/18 at 4:09 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a motor vehicle accident on South Constitution Boulevard. An engine responded.
On 01/31/18 at 4:45 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #23 Scenic Hill Road for an odor of propane in the home. An engine, a ladder truck and a rescue truck responded.
On 01/31/18 at 5:33 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 north between exits 12 and 13. Two engines and a rescue truck responded.
On 2/01/18 at 6:22 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #124 Dickinson Drive for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. One unit responded.
On 02/02/18 at 10:29 am the Huntington Co. #3, the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a report of an odor of smoke in the building at the Edge Fitness Center #862 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. No odor or cause of an odor was found by firefighters. Two engines and a ladder truck responded.
On 02/02/18 at 4:30 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Howe Avenue near Housatonic Rise. An engine and a rescue truck responded.
On 02/04/18 at 8:51 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a fire alarm sounding at the Helen DeVaux Housing Complex at #91 Howe Avenue. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine responded.
On 0204/18 at 11:43 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to assist EMS with a patient at #551 Asbury Ridge. An engine responded.
On 02/8:30 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 north at exit 13. An engine and two rescue trucks responded.
On 02/04/18 at 10:08 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on River Road near Trolley Bridge Road. A rescue truck responded.
