Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls

Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from the last week.

On 02/19/18 at 8:54 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bridgeport Avenue at Cots Street. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 02/19/18 at 9:35 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 at exit 13. Two engines and a rescue truck responded.

On 02/20/18 at 5:40 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #8 Fawn Meadow Lane for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. An engine responded.

On 02/20/18 at 5:43 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. 33 responded to #237 Lenore Drive for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. Two engines responded.

On 02/20/18 at 6:25 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a report of a brush fire off Nells Rock Road. Firefighters responded but found no fire. A unit responded.

On 02/20/18 at 7:43 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to #12 New Street for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. A motorcycle running in a garage caused the alarm. An engine responded.

On 02/21/18 at 00:36 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to Sunset Drive for an odor of natural gas in the area. An engine responded.

On 02/21/18 at 8:06 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Ripton Housing Complex at #423 Howe Avenue for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Steam from a shower caused the alarm. An engine responded.

On 02/21/18 at 10:43 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to the Hilton garden Inn at #25 Old Stratford Road for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Spray painting operations in a third floor room caused the alarm. Two engines and a tower truck responded.

On 02/22/18 at 2:00 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a public service call, lockout, at #4 Corporate Drive. A rescue truck responded.

On 02/22/18 at 6:04 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #408 Leavenworth Road for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm. An engine and a rescue truck responded.

On 02/24/18 at 3:43 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #4 Sleepy Day Road for an odor of natural gas.

On 02/24/18 at 8:31 am the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #177 Longfellow Road for a carbon monoxide detector sounding. An engine responded.

On 02/24/18 at 10:45 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to #8 Mondray Court for a fire alarm sounding. There was no fire. An engine and a ladder truck responded.

On 02/25/18 at 11:34 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 at exit 12. Two engines and a rescue truck responded.

On 02/25/18 at 2:21 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire alarm sounding at #1 Greenwich Place. There was no fire. Two engines, a rescue truck and a tower truck responded.

On 02/25/18 at 5:25 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #44 Whitewood Drive for a fire on a kitchen stove that had been extinguished. An engine responded.
