Shelton Masseur Charged With Fourth-Degree Sex Assault

Shelton police charged a masseur Tuesday with two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of practicing massage therapy without a license.

According to a prepared statement from Detective Richard Bango, police received two complaints from women who said they were “inappropriately touched” by Kim Hyung, 53, during massage sessions at the Coco Spa, 704 Bridgeport Ave.

The first woman complained May 6. Police launched an investigation. Then a second woman complained to police May 28.

Police allege Hyung isn’t a licensed massage therapist.

Hyung was being held on a $15,000 bond pending a court appearance today (Tuesday, July 5). He is from Fresh Meadows, N.Y.

“This is an ongoing investigation and the police ask if anyone experienced similar incidents to contact the Shelton police at 203-924-1544,” Bango said in a statement.
