Shelton Police Accuse Man Of Sexually Assaulting Minor

Shelton police filed more charges Wednesday against a Torrington man first accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in January.

In a prepared statement, Detective Christopher Nugent said 45-year-old Christopher Galvin had an ongoing sexual relationship with the female juvenile victim over an extended period of time.”

The investigation revealed that Galvin met the juvenile victim online when she was 13,” Nugent said.

Nugent said Shelton Police Youth Officer Christopher Robak obtained a warrant charging Galvin with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and enticing a minor by computer.

He has been behind bars since Feb. 7, according to court records, when West Hartford police charged him with enticing a minor by computer.

Galvin was previously arrested in Shelton in January after police said he sexually assaulted the girl after she fell asleep in his car Jan. 16.

Police filed the new charges against him Wednesday when he was scheduled for an appearance in that case at Superior Court in Derby.
