A 27-year-old Shelton man is behind bars after being charged with drugging and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl earlier this year.
Miguel Feliciano, a registered sex offender who has an address on New Street, was arrested by Shelton police Aug. 24.
In a prepared statement, Detective Richard Bango said police received a complaint in May “in which Feliciano was accused of giving a 15 year old female narcotics at friend’s house.”
The friend’s house was in downtown Shelton, Bango said in an email.
“The complaint charged that Feliciano would wait until the juvenile was under the influence, then have sex with her numerous times over the course of the weekend,” Bango said. “During the investigation it was discovered Feliciano is a registered sex offender who was not in compliance with the State of Connecticut.”
According to court records the incident occurred May 14.
Feliciano faces charges of second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and illegal sexual contact with a minor.
He was arraigned Friday at Superior Court in Derby, where a judge ordered him held on $150,000 bond and continued the case to Sept. 19.
As of Monday Feliciano was behind bars at Bridgeport Correctional Center, according to Correction Department records.
According to the state’s sex offender registry, Feliciano had a previous address in Ansonia.
He was convicted in 2007 of having illegal sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl and was sentenced to serve three years behind bars.
