Since 2013, Thule Group has partnered with the Spooner House in Shelton to fundraise and purchase meals for donation to local families in need during the holiday season.
Headquartered in Seymour, Thule Group and its employees rallied last week in a departmental challenge as a way to give back to the community, while using the spirit of competition to raise the bar above and beyond each year’s goal.
This year, the total number of meals donated by employees reached 200, roughly 40 percent more meals than last year and exceeding the company’s goal of 175 for 2018.
Consisting of ready-to-eat meal items, canned goods, and other non-perishable items for holiday meals, the individual meal boxes were packaged and delivered by Thule Group employees to the Spooner House on Thursday, November 16.
Servicing hundreds of local families during the food drive each season, Spooner House is operated by Area Congregations Together, Inc. with the mission of providing food, shelter and support services to people in need.
