Two Charged In Connection To BB Gun Shooting

Two Ansonia men were arrested after a man was shot with a BB Oct. 30.

Ansonia police received a complaint about 5:15 p.m. saying a person had just been shot with a BB gun at the corner of High and Lester streets.

Police responded and found a person had been shot in the hand. The injury was minor.

Officers stopped a black Hyundai in the area and allegedly found two BB guns inside.

The men in the car were arrested.

Demetrus Robinson, 18, was charged with second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, and second-degree breach of peace.

He’s due in court in Derby Nov. 13.

Deonte Jett, 19, was charged with second-degree aiding and abetting assault, possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle under suspension.

He’s due in court in Derby Nov. 15.

At about 9:30 p.m., three more young people were arrested in connection to BB guns in cars.

Ansonia police stopped a car for failing to use a turn signal and allegedly found three BB guns inside, along with a 3.5 pounds of BBs.

Police identified the driver as 18-year-old Joshua Bazil, of Ansonia. He was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, improper rear lamps, and improper plate.

He’s due in court in Derby Nov. 13.

Two male juveniles, both age 17, were charged with weapons in a motor vehicle and released to their guardians,” police said.
