Valley Indy Radio: Retired NYPD Detective Sgt. Talks About Manfredonia Manhunt

For two days in a row people connected to the search for Connecticut homicide suspect Peter Manfredonia have used the media to deliver messages of support to the 23-year-old UConn senior.

Press the play button as The Valley Indy speaks with retired NYPD Detective Sgt. Joseph L. Giacalone about the messaging being used to try to convince Manfredonia to turn himself in.

Giacalone is an adjunct professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

He was the executive officer of the 110th Precinct Detective Squad in Queens, the commanding officer of the Bronx Cold Case Squad, the director of the NYPD Homicide School, and the commanding officer of the Bronx Cold Case Squad.

He retired from the force in 2012.

Anyone with information on Manfredonia, such as his whereabouts or information about the cases, should call Connecticut State Police Troop C at 860 – 896-3200 or the FBI at 1 – 800-CALL FBI (225‑5324).

Pennsylvania police said this photo of the suspect is from Sunday, May 24 and was taken in East Stroudsburg, PA, which is in Monroe County.
