Valley Youth Spotlight: Julian MacDowell Of Seymour

Julian MacDowell, a 13-year-old student at Seymour Middle School, has volunteered to demonstrate his karate skills and help the staff at a senior citizens home.

The pictures and videos are from Florida, where many of our seniors go to a similar place.

Julian first started karate at BushiBan in Seymour at a very early age and has attained his first black belt. When he first came home from a lesson and addressed his father as yes sir,” I knew that this would be a good thing.

Julian is not one to brag about his achievements — but if you ask him I am sure he would be proud to serve the local senior citizens throughout the valley and bring some shining light to their days.

EDITORS NOTE: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

The news is always negative, you say.

Where are the positive stories?” you ask.

Well, that’s why The Valley Indy teamed with the Valley Council for Health and Human Services to present Valley Youth Making A Difference.”

We know we’re missing good stories about our young people every day. The fact is we need you to share those stories.
