The Great Give raised $1.28 million for area nonprofits, according to information posted on the organization’s website.
The Great Give was a 36-hour online fundraiser Tuesday and Wednesday sponsored by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and The Valley Community Foundation, along with a number of area businesses and corporations.
The Valley Indy raised $10,567 from 130 people.

The 16th segment of the Valley Indy’s Great Give webcast featured a second installment of Valley Sports Rewind with special guest Nick DiLuggo.
DiLuggo is the track coach at Derby High School and was joined by Jenn Moffat speaking with Valley Sports Rewind host Mike Cannici.
Afterward Valley Indy staffers Eugene Driscoll and Ethan Fry wrapped up the first day of the Great Give webcast.

The 15th installment of the Valley Indy’s Great Give webcast featured Valley Chris Bowen, one of the Valley Indy Facebook page’s most prolific commenters throughout the years.
Chris talked to us about his recent marriage (congrats!) and his recent move back to his childhood home of Seymour. A former hockey player and referee, Chris also talked to us about the merits of various hockey movies throughout the years, e.g. George Roy Hill’s “Slap Shot.”

The Valley Indy went on the road (about 200 yards) for the 13th segment of the Great Give webcast, which featured part of a public information session and hearing on two land deals the city of Ansonia is considering.
Click here and here for some more background on the potential deals, which would see the city acquire 65 Main St. to relocate the police station and senior center, and sell the ATP and Palmer buildings to a private developer.
(We had to leave the hearing before it ended because we had another segment scheduled, but we’ll try to get the audio from the Board of Aldermen’s recording secretary and post it in the future.)

Originally scheduled guest Coach Nick DiLuggo was delayed at a track meet but the Hyders — Tara, Rob, and Emma — were gracious enough to fill in at the last minute.
