See ‘A Christmas Carol’ In Shelton Dec. 22

CONTRIBUTEDValley Shakespeare Festival and the Shelton Historical Society will join forces again this coming Sunday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. to present a dramatic adapted reading of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic A Christmas Carol.”

The first Reading took place in the History Center’s 1860s-era Wilson Barn on Friday, Dec. 13.

Patrons who attended were also treated to a reception of seasonal baked goods and beverages in the History Center’s Brownson House.

Shelton Police Holding Annual Toy Drive

FILEThe Shelton Police Department has teamed up with Outback Steakhouse of Shelton for the annual toy drive.

People are asked to bring new unwrapped toys that will be distributed to local families in need. The toys can be dropped off at the Shelton Police Department, located at 85 Wheeler St., or Outback Steakhouse of Shelton, located at 698 Bridgeport Ave.

All toys must be received by Thursday, Dec. 19.

Oxford High Boosters Plan Festival Of Trees Weekend

Please join us for the Oxford PTO Holiday Bazaar and OHS Booster Club’s 6th Annual Festival of Trees Weekend for Charity from Dec 13 – 14th at Oxford High School.

Take a leisurely stroll through the OHS Festival of Trees all weekend long during the many activities for the young and young at heart. 

The festivities start Friday, Dec 13th with Pizza with Santa” from 5 – 7pm ($5 per person or $20 for a family including pizza/beverage/dessert.) Kids will be able to make their own gingerbread houses and Santa will make a special appearance for pictures.

How To Support TEAM Inc’s Toys For Kids Drive

The holiday season is upon us and Toys 4 Kids has begun for the community!

TEAM Toys 4 Kids is the largest holiday toy drive in the region; toys are collected for children from infancy to 12 years old who live in Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton, Orange and Woodbridge.

TEAM has conducted the drive for the past 28 years and last year provided toys to 1,486 children from 771 families.

Sona Bella Salon & Day Spa Sponsors Charity Event For Spooner House

Sona Bella Salon & Day Spa is sponsoring Pack-A-Pick-Up on Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All donations go directly to Spooner House.
