Seymour Event To Benefit Troops

The Seymour Pride Committee will be hosting its second annual Family Night Out for the Troops on Friday Nov. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street.

Admission is $2 per person with proceeds from the evening going to the Town of Seymour’s Richard R. Pearson Fund, from which Christmas checks are sent every year to town residents serving in the military.

The Pride Committee will also be collecting donations of toiletries, baby wipes, individual snack packs, books, puzzle books, leftover Halloween candy, board and card games as well to send to the troops overseas.

Mayor Staffieri Seeks Donations For Members Of The Armed Services

Mayor Tony Staffieri, in conjunction with the Catholic War Veterans St. Michael’s Post 1562, is again reaching out to the Derby community seeking monetary contributions which are then sent out to our local men and women serving in the military at home or overseas as a Christmas Gift from the community.

Seymour Teachers, Students Raise Money, Collect Food For Holidays
