Corrine C. McManus, 57, entered into rest on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born in Derby on May 24, 1960 and is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years to Charles R. McManus, Sr.  Together they had a son, Charles R. McManus, Jr. of Naugatuck.

Corrine worked for many years as an office manager of a title insurance company.  But, it was later in life that she followed her true passion in the restaurant field.  Most recently, Corrine worked as an event planner at La Sala in Derby where she planned, organized, served, and even cooked for private parties of up to several hundred people.  Perhaps the title she was most proud of was that of “Karate Mom” at her son’s business, Seven Star Martial Arts Academy in Ansonia.

Besides her husband and son, she is survived by her daughter in law, Sarah McManus of Naugatuck, her brother Jack Cotter and sister in law Deborah of Plymouth and her brother Mark Cotter and brother in law Roger Welch of New York City.  She is predeceased by her parents, William F. and Corrine (Riccio) Cotter, Sr., daughter Mary C. McManus and brother William F. Cotter, Jr.

Friends are invited to greet Corrine’s family on Friday, October 27 from 3 to 7 pm in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. in  Derby.  On Saturday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary’s Church, 212 Elizabeth St. Derby, for her Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am.  Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
