The 3rd Annual Derby Dash 5k & Fun Run will kick off Derby Day festivities on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at 8 a.m. on the Greenway in Derby.
The first 100 runners to register will receive a Derby Dash T‑shirt.
Participants are being directed to the municipal parking lot behind Main Street (near the former Housatonic Lumber).
Greystone Racing will once again be the official timer.
The race is sanctioned by US Track and Field and this year volunteers from the Derby Office of Emergency Management will be stationed along the course to ensure the safety of all and to provide updates to the command center.
The Derby Dash 5k and Fun Run is open to all runners and walkers.
In fact, walkers are encouraged to participate.
After the race, participates are invited to enjoy delicious ice treats supplied by the official race sponsor, Rita’s Ice of Bridgeport.
Once the 5k is completed cheer the children as they embark on a half mile Fun Run.
