ANSONIA — The following is a press release from Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti’s office:
Community Leaders will be joining together in public ‘Call for Unity’ on the steps of Ansonia City Hall, 253 Main Street, on Thursday, June 4, 2020 starting at 10 a.m.
Speakers will include members of Ansonia City Government, local pastors and clergy, and other community leaders.
“Now more than ever, our residents need to know that their community leaders stand behind them,” says Mayor David S. Cassetti. “I am calling on our community leaders to gather together to deliver messages of peace, equality, and justice; to let the world know that our Ansonia community is united against hate, violence and inequality.”
Mayor Cassetti believes that the steps of Ansonia City Hall provide the perfect backdrop for such a message to be delivered.
“The bust of Martin Luther King, Jr. stands proudly on the grounds of City Hall, and I hope his legacy will serve as inspiration for our Call for Unity.”
