A Message From Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller

Seymour Town Hall

SEYMOUR — The following message was sent by Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miler:

With the continued uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we are updating our plans daily in an effort to keep our employees and residents as safe as possible.

For this reason, Town Hall will remain closed on Thursday and Friday of this week as we finalize our plans.

We expect to open on Monday with a modified schedule with very limited access to the building for the public.

Only a handful of departments will be open each day and residents will be expected to call in advance to discuss their needs. Walk-ins will be accommodated if possible. We are doing this out of an abundance of caution.

By next week, all departments will have virtual access and staff will be available via email and phone during normal business hours to assist you with any questions you might have. Please visit www.seymourct.org for more information.

The Seymour Public Library and the Community Center will to remain closed until further notice.

Seymour Public Schools will continue to follow the schedule that was set forth by Superintendent Wilson. Any changes to these will be communicated as quickly as possible.

I ask that all residents continue to be vigilant about protecting themselves and each other from the virus.

Most importantly, please avoid all unnecessary gatherings. If you must go in public, use social distancing to limit your contact with others and wash your hands frequently. It is now recommended that you stay away from groups of 10 or more people.

If you are feeling sick, please remain home to avoid spreading the illness.

Please reach out via phone, text or email to family and friends who may live alone to make sure they are feeling ok. If you believe you or someone in your family has contracted COVID-19, please contact your healthcare provider or emergency room rather than going to the emergency room to seek testing.

We’re all in this together so it’s important that we all work together to protect the vulnerable in our community. I will provide more updates over the next few days and will provide updates as things change.

I wish you and your family safety and good health.
