Michael Leone,16, was recognized by the Housatonic Council for achieving Eagle Scout rank. The requirements for earning Eagle Scout rank are rigorous and require many years of effort and leadership.

Less than 4 percent of all Boy Scouts achieve Scouting’s highest honor.

At 5 years old Leone joined Pack 20 and was a Boy Scout with Troop 27 in White Hills. Michael served as patrol leader and a Leave Behind No Trace“ trainer. He attended Sunnyside Elementary in Shelton where he designed a new school sign and installed planter beds for his Eagle Scout project.

Leone is the son of Anthony and Laura and brother to Anna.

Michael also attended Perry Hill and Shelton Intermediate. Leone earned the President’s Award two years in a row, Student of the Month, and Student of the Year during elementary and middle school.

He is currently a senior at Shelton High School and is a member of the National Honor Society, Italian Honor Society, Student Council, Italian Club, and Secretary for the Junior Statesmen of America. He recently attended the American Legion sponsored Boys State Leadership Program at Eastern Connecticut State University.
