Agent: Buyers Looking At Healey Ford

Photo: Jodie MozdzerThe real estate agent for the former Healey Ford property in Ansonia said there are currently three interested buyers for the land.

We’ve had pretty decent interest since we’ve put it on the market,” said Mike Richetelli, of Colonial Properties real estate, based in Orange.

Richetelli said of the three interested buyers, two wanted to use the existing building. One wanted to raze the building and redevelop the property as retail. He declined to give specifics about what they were interested in doing with the land.

The property’s well located,” Richetelli said. The people we’ve had looking at it for retail development like it because it’s next to a Target and a supermarket-anchored shopping center. It’s at an intersection with traffic lights. It’s a good parcel for redevelopment.”

The building, on 1.75 acres, is on the market for $3.95 million. Richetelli wouldn’t say how much the three interested parties wanted to pay for it.

The land is zoned for commercial use.

Healey Ford closed in June, when Ford decided to consolidate dealerships in the state. This week, there was an auction at the property to sell off the furniture and equipment still left in the dealership.
