Alderman Responds To Column On Fund Balance

I have asked the Chairwoman of the Tax Board to speak about the fund balance at their next meeting, scheduled for Oct. 18.

In the meantime, I will say that Mr. Hyder is incorrect in his assumptions, and I personally invite him to attend on Oct. 18 meeting to once again see for himself that our fund balance, per the rating agencies, is at acceptable levels.

All fund balance expenditures are agreed upon by the B.O.A.T., both Democrats and Republicans, via a full quorum public vote.

There is no trickery or fuzzy math, and he will soon see the errors in his calculations. Mr. Hyder previously wrote a commentary” stating the incorrect numbers regarding the transfer station, and he is heading down that same road again.

Bringing forth false financial information and stating it as fact is a tremendous disservice to all taxpayers.
