Alderman Tripp: I Was At The Meeting, And Feel Free To Call

An open letter to the City of Ansonia:

The reason I ran for Alderman was to give greater public service to the people of the second ward of the City of Ansonia.

This process started in Kabul, Afghanistan during the time I was deployed on active duty with the U.S. Army.

It was there that I memorized every street in Ansonia’s second ward and walked through the second ward via Google Earth.

In the last two years I have spoken with hundreds of second ward residents, handed out my phone number to hundreds more and assisted dozens of residents with concerns about their neighborhood and/or the City of Ansonia.

In many cases a phone call to me has resulted in my being at a resident’s front door within the hour and contacting the appropriate City agency to attend to the resident’s situation.

Furthermore, I make it a point to stop and speak with five to ten second ward residents every week.

My active phone numbers are posted on the City web site under Aldermen and I am easily accessible to discuss any concerns residents may have.

I am also more than happy to meet with my critics face to face and have enthusiastically done so.

I am very proud of my accomplishments serving the People of the second ward and the City of Ansonia.

As a member of the Board of Alderman’s Finance Committee I am very proud of the budget we put together that later passed the full Board of Alderman with a 14 to 0 vote.

I believe the budget maintained vital City services and while not perfect, made every attempt to be fair to the Taxpayer.

The Finance Committee Chairman has made available the attendance records of these meetings which reflect my commitment to the process and my deep dedication to my
constituents.

For the record, I was also at the 20 May BOAT meeting, standing in the back of Aldermanic Chambers due to the overflow crowd.

For the person who has claimed otherwise, I can deliver a laundry list of reputable attendees, who can attest to my presence there that night, although I don’t really feel the need to defend myself to someone who puts out false information about me in public venues, although I would graciously accept a public apology.

That same night I attended a Planning and Zoning meeting on behalf of a second ward resident who had concerns with those proceedings.

I have a record of service to the Nation, the State of Connecticut and the City of Ansonia.

I look forward to continuing my service to the People of the City of Ansonia.

I invite questions and comments from ALL residents of the City of Ansonia, just call.
