A dip in the road which appeared to be getting deeper on Thompson Place in front of the Derby Parking Garage was being repaired Wednesday.
When workers from Frank Pepe Construction and Derby Public Works opened the street they revealed what appeared to be part of a foundation of the former Raro’s gas station and another brick building.
Local Historian Robert Novak and Derby Mayor Anthony Staffieri were onsite to check out “the find” before the hole was filled. The parking garage was open during construction.
