SHELTON — Community members are invited to join Celebrate Shelton at the Rotary Pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park in Downtown Shelton for the Eighth Annual Community Tree Lighting on Friday, December 3rd at 5:30pm.
Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided, and there will be shopping local opportunities with artisan vendors and several local Boy Scout Troops selling pies, ornaments, wreaths and poinsettias. There will be performances by Valley Shakespeare Festival and Center Stage Theatre and live music with Benny Mikula next to our first-ever community bonfire!
The downtown tree lighting will be held at 7:00pm. After the tree lighting, Santa will arrive at 7:15pm on the Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Fire Truck. Children are encouraged to meet Santa and take a photo. Santa will be waving and standing with children, rather than seated. Santa has a lot of stops to make and we want him healthy for Christmas! Guests are reminded to bundle up in case it’s a chilly night.
Celebrate Shelton was started in 2014 by Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic and Jimmy Tickey.
The Community Tree Lighting is sponsored by the City of Shelton, Jones Family Farm, and Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Co. 1, and this event benefits the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys & Girls Club.
