UPDATE: Arrest Made In Shelton High School Threat

Shelton Police have arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with the threat that occurred today at Shelton High School. He was charged with first-degree falsely reporting an incident and second-degree breach of peace.

In a statement released Monday evening, Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said the department has made these threat investigations a high priority and has been diligently following up all leads.

The arrest Monday is the culmination of an intense investigation by the youth officer with assistance from the school resource officer and the detective division.

The following was posted at 3:09 p.m.
Shelton High School went into lockdown” mode for about two hours Monday, after a student found a suspicious note that mentioned a threat.

During a lockdown, students must remain in their classrooms.

The note indicated a threat during a specific time period, according to a statement released by Shelton police Monday afternoon.

The contents of the note, and the type of threat, were not revealed for investigative purposes,” Lt. Robert Koslowsky wrote in the press release.

Det. Ben Trabka was quoted in the CT Post saying it was not a bomb threat.

Several police officers were sent to the school during the lockdown.

After the lockdown school resumed as normal. Police stayed at the school until the end of the school day.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, police said.

The incident follows several false bomb threats in the past four months, which have led to building evacuations and one early dismissal.

Five students in two towns have been arrested for the bomb threats, and two have been expelled from Shelton High School.
