The second meeting of a new Ansonia Block Watch Committee will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Alderman Jerome Fainer invites all interested residents in Ansonia to attend the meeting to learn more about how to form and oversee a neighborhood block watch.
The idea was brought up to aldermen by residents in the Hall Street area who were concerned about potential drug dealing going on in their neighborhood, Fainer said.
About 25 people showed up to the first meeting of the committee last month, Fainer said. Representatives from the Ansonia Police Department are participating to help residents understand how to operate a block watch.
Tonight’s meeting will take place at the Charter Hose Co. building on Day Street in Ansonia.
