A Wakelee Avenue business was burglarized early Tuesday (Oct. 1), according to Ansonia Police.
A prepared statement from the police department Tuesday afternoon said that about 12:25 a.m., police received a call from an alarm company indicating a break-in at Klanko’s store on Wakelee Avenue.
“Upon officers’ arrival they found that the front glass door had been shattered. Officers checked the building and found that someone had used a rock to smash the window and then enter the store,” the statement said. “The actor smashed the cash register and took the money inside of the register. A total of approximately $200 was taken.”
Surveillance video indicated that the burglar is “a stocky male, skin color unknown, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and jeans,” the statement said.
Police asked anyone with information to call the police department at 203 – 735-1885.
