The Ansonia High School varsity football team take their 12 – 0 record into the Class M state championship Saturday against 11 – 1 Ledyard.

The game is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.

This is the second year in a row the Chargers have made it to a state championship game. Last year they were defeated by St. Joseph’s, 48 – 28. The photo gallery above is from last year’s game.

Saturday’s game is scheduled to be streamed over the World Wide Web by Sporting News Connecticut.

We’ll have scoring updates here on the Valley Indy. Updates are also available online by following either NVL Football or Ansonia Football on Twitter. If that doesn’t work, search ctfb” on Twitter.

At that point, if you still can’t find out the score Saturday, The Muppets” screens at 11:35 a.m. at Tri-Town Plaza.

The writers at the NVL Football Blog have a massive preview of the game on their site.

For Ansonia, I expect Arkeel Newsome to get 35 carries and surpass Alex Thomas’ record (3,596 yards) for the most rushing yards in a season. Newsome needs 198 rushing yards to break the record,” blogger Remmy notes.
