Ansonia, Derby Police Make Larceny Arrests

Ansonia and Derby police raided three residences in connection to a burglary investigation.

The raids happened Friday morning at 9 Crescent St., along with 15 and 16 May St. in Ansonia.

Recently, there have been residential burglaries in the area where electronics, money and jewelry have been stolen. The investigation led police to these three locations,” Ansonia police spokesman Lt. Andrew Cota said in a prepared statement.

Police used search warrants and found numerous” items that had been reported stolen, Cota said.

Three men were charged with sixth-degree larceny:

  • Jeffrey Lewis, 19, of 15 May St. Apt. 2, Ansonia
  • Christopher Cloud, 22, of 9 Crescent St., Ansonia,
  • Emmanuel Johnson, 23, of 16 May St., 1st floor, Ansonia.

Johnson and Lewis were arraigned at Superior Court in Derby on Monday (Sept. 17). 

Cloud posted bond and is due in court Sept. 28.

This case is continuing as police are trying to identify the owners of items seized during the search warrants. Further arrests are expected,” Cota’s statement said.
