The Duchess Restaurant at 60 Pershing Drive is closed for renovations.
Construction crews were working at the scene Tuesday at lunchtime.
Signs out front indicated there was renovation work being done.
Company officials said it will reopen for drive-through service only in about a week to ten days.
“We expect all the work to be complete by approximately Feb. 10. The renovated restaurant will have all new appointments (flooring, booths, tables and chairs) and flat screen TVs,” said Diane Lavin, spokesman for the company.
She said the renovation will be much like the one at the Shelton Duchess on Bridgeport Avenue.
“We are very excited about the project and look forward to reopening to serve Ansonia soon,” she said.
Duchess prides itself on fresh ingredients and a large menu. It is known for its two for $3 hot dog specials.
There are Duchess locations throughout Fairfield and New Haven Counties, include Ansonia, Bridgeport, Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Naugatuck, Norwalk, Orange, Shelton, Stratford and Wallingford.
