Ansonia Firefighters Extinguish Bathroom Fire

A fire truck at the scene Wednesday morning.

ANSONIA — Firefighters made quick work of a bathroom fire before it could get out of hand in a house on Grove Street Wednesday.

No injuries were reported and Fire Marshal Darrick Lundeen’s office is investigating.

Firefighters and EMS were sent to 132 Howard Ave. at about 8:50 a.m.

A neighbor saw smoke coming from a second floor window. When we got here we made entry through the front door, went up to the second floor and found a fire in the bathroom,” Ansonia Fire Department Chief Dan Mudry said.

The fire was extinguished and the two-story home was ventilated to release heat and smoke.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

As far as house fires go, the damage was relatively minor, limited to smoke and water damage to the bathroom. The house was near the intersection of Howard and Grove.
