The annual Ansonia Harvest Festival sponsored by the Ansonia Rotary Club and the Ansonia Cultural Commission is rescheduled from Oct. 1 to this Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street.
The event will include arts, crafts, food vendors, contests and entertainment, including bands and strolling bands, singers and dancers.
Magician Brian Lizzotte will design animal balloons from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and there will be a chalk drawing on Water Street for school-age children, a pumpkin carving contest and a scarecrow contest that will be judged by Greg Karas of the Valley Arts Council.
The public is invited to submit a scarecrow and may register at the Valley Arts Council Booth.
An antique car show will be held on Bridge Street , and trophies will be awarded. Mechanical safari rides will benefit the Boy Scouts of America, and there will be amusement rides and a free moon walk donated by TEAM Inc.
A storyteller will be on hand at Veteran’s Park next to City Hall at noon.
